Meanings

• V（辞書形／た形）／N の ＋ 際（に）: on the occasion/when … (formal).
• V（辞書形）／N の ＋ にあたって: at the time of a special beginning/event; ceremonious.

Examples

• ご利用の 際 は、身分証を ご提示ください。— When you use (this service), please show ID.
• 開会 にあたって、社長より ご挨拶 申し上げます。— At the opening, the president will address you.
• 出国 の際に、税関申告が 必要です。
