Meanings

• V（ます）＋ かねない: might (bad outcome) happen; risk warning.
• V（ます）＋ かねる: formal cannot / find it difficult to; often used in customer support/business emails.

Examples

• その 情報を SNSで 広めると、誤解を 招き かねません。— Spreading that info on SNS could cause misunderstandings.
• 個人情報の 開示は、プライバシーの 観点から お答え しかねます。— We are unable to answer due to privacy concerns.
• 安全対策を 怠ると、事故を 引き起こし かねない。
